The natural products marketplace continues to evolve, particularly with the ever-changing preferences and priorities of consumers. In an August 2016 national consumer survey from Packaged Facts, around 60 percent of adults somewhat or strongly agreed:

• They only take supplements that have solid scientific evidence supporting the health benefits.

• Nutritional supplements should be free from genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

• They prefer to get nutrition from foods, rather than supplements—even though they believe supplements are generally safe to use.
